Live Him exists for believers who know Jesus, love Jesus, and still feel the gap between what they believe and how they live day to day.
The gap we could not ignore
It started with empty seats — pews where professed believers should have been sitting on Sunday mornings. But the burden goes deeper than attendance. Men and women of God are being distracted and drawn away by temptation in their daily lives. A younger generation needs to take up the mantle, and the older generation needs to model the example Christ gave us.
And a church that longs to reach Gen Z and Millennials keeps asking the same question: how do we reach them without changing the message?
The message does not need to change. The platform does.
The moment it became real
June 2, 7:48 PM. Patrick was sitting in an Iron Sharpens Iron men's Bible study. The conversation that night centered on two things: how easily men of God can be distracted and drawn away by temptation in daily life, and the need for the younger generation to take up the mantle after the elder generation. In that moment, Patrick remembered a phrase he had recorded on his voice recorder years earlier: "Don't just Love Him, Live Him."
The following Monday, at a ministers' meeting with his pastor, the topic was once again how the church could reach Gen Z and Millennials without changing the message. Patrick realized the message was not the problem. The platform was. That realization became the seed of Live Him.
A disciple still being discipled
Patrick Poland is not presenting himself as someone who has arrived. In his own words, he is "only a sinner saved by grace — and still tempted daily." He has not always lived the believer's life in every area of his own life, and that honesty is part of why Live Him exists.
He is faithful in church attendance, tithing, and serving — teaching Sunday School, serving as a deacon, and being part of his church's prayer and outreach teams. But he will be the first to tell you he still wants to grow in prayer, faith, discipleship, and obedience.
LIVE HIM is as much a journey for Patrick as it is for everyone it serves. It is an ongoing process, not a destination.
Grace through every season
Patrick was raised in Catholic school, and later — through a Mennonite church his neighbors pastored — discovered that Christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus, not just head knowledge about Him.
He was an athlete: gymnastics, track and cross-country. At 17, he broke his neck on a trampoline and was told he would never walk again — that his best hope was to feed himself with his left hand. It was there that he truly began to rely on Jesus and prayer. Forty-five days later he left the hospital walking with a walker, and over the following years recovered almost completely.
There were seasons after that when Patrick drifted far from the faith he professed — years he knew in his heart were not right, even while he rationalized them. A Life in the Spirit conference became the turning point: the moment he rededicated his life to Christ.
Years later came another life-threatening injury and another "never walk again" prognosis. Once again, God showed mercy. Once again, prayer brought him back to serving Jesus.
Today Patrick serves at his church, alongside his wife Penny, in whatever capacity he can. He is wheelchair bound now — the result of many injuries and age — but he sees his whole life as evidence of God's grace. Many see the wheelchair and want him to be healed. He tells them he was already healed, and he credits that to Jesus Christ.
What we will not compromise
Jesus is still the way, the truth, and the life.
Christians must LIVE Him seven days a week — not just on Sundays.
Reaching Millennials and Gen Z requires new platforms and fresh approaches.
- Jesus is the only way to salvation.
- If the Word calls something sin, we will not pretend it is not sin.
- We can love people without condoning sin.
- All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. (John 3:16)
Everyone is welcome at our table. Live Him is built for the believer who wants to grow — and our hope is that through believers, it will also encourage the lost.
Feed my sheep
Food for the spirit"Lovest thou me? … Feed my sheep."
John 21:17
Jesus was not only speaking of food for the body, but food for the spirit. Live Him exists to help feed believers with Scripture, testimony, teaching, encouragement, and practical discipleship — every day of the week.
Technology is the engine. Personal relationships are the fuel.
Personal > passiveThe goal is not merely to gain subscribers or social shares. The goal is for believers to personally invite and walk with others — just as our relationship with Jesus is personal, the relationship with those we pass it on to needs to be personal.
The first goal is 500 believers in six months. The number itself is not sacred. The real vision is multiplication: each believer helping two more. Jesus started with twelve, and they have grown into billions. Movements grow through personal relationships, not passive content consumption.
What joining means
Joining Live Him means choosing to grow, choosing to live what you believe, and choosing to encourage someone else to do the same.
Each of us is responsible for our own growth — but every time we share the movement, we take a leadership role in the life of the person we share it with.We all need someone to be accountable to.
