Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Once again being hungry or thirsty does not sound like a good, or pleasant thing, but Jesus teaches that it depends on what you are hungering and thirsting for.
The world constantly offers things that promise satisfaction: success, possessions, pleasure, recognition, and comfort. Yet no matter how much we gain, those things never fully satisfy the deepest needs of the soul. Jesus points us toward a different kind of hunger and thirst, one that seeks God's righteousness above all else. When our greatest desire is to know Him, obey Him, and reflect His character, we begin to experience the fulfillment that only God can provide.
Hungering and thirsting for righteousness is not a one-time event but a daily pursuit. (Which is also the main behavior we want to develop through LIVEHIM. Just as our bodies need food and water every day, our spirits need regular nourishment through prayer, Scripture, worship, and fellowship with other believers. The more we seek God's kingdom and His ways, the more our desires begin to align with His. What once seemed important fades in significance as our love for Christ grows stronger.
Jesus promises that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness "shall be filled." This is not merely a future promise for heaven, though it certainly includes that glorious hope. It is also a present reality for believers who seek Him faithfully. God fills our hearts with His peace, strengthens us through His Spirit, and satisfies us with His presence. The fourth Beatitude reminds us that true satisfaction is found not in getting more of what the world offers, but in pursuing more of God.
Don't just love Him. Live Him.Don't just LVE Him.LVE Him.
