Being intentional

These days, more and more it seems like everything is set up to happen automatically. Our phones and devices remind us to do this do that all throughout the day. While this may seem convenient, more and more, we are giving up our ability to think and plan for ourselves. We have to be careful not to let our relationship with Jesus go on auto pilot. Our time in prayer and in his word needs to have our full attention. We need to constantly think about what he has done for us in our lives and the sacrifice he made for our sins and our salvation. If Jesus himself intentionally made time for prayer and meditation and communion with The Father and Holy Spirit, how much more important is it that we do the same. Make time in every day to sit alone in His presence and build a strong relationship. His word says, “My sheep know my voice”. That only comes from time spent together.
