Be Passionate About Your Calling

Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Earlier this week there was a post about complacency. I submit to you that complacency is not God's will for us. In fact, I believe He calls us to be just the opposite o that. I believe we should be passionate for Him but also in other areas of our lives. Questions: 1) How many have seen Amazing Grace? 2) How many think the movie is about the song? 3) How many think the movie is about the abolition of slavery in England? 4) What do you think the movie was about? Let me suggest to you that the movie was about none of these things but rather about a man’s passion to achieve what God had called him to do in this world. God often gives me certain messages and usually by the time I realize he is talking to me I have already received several parts of the message He had for me. I usually look back then and can see things he has given me for the message and how they fit into the overall idea. It is like having a puzzle and every few seconds a new piece is added until finally you can recognize the picture even though all the pieces may still not be in place. That makes it all the more exciting to me because I believe that confirms that He is speaking to me. What the world calls coincidence I call conversation with God. Often, we miss God's calling because we are afraid of failure. These are some of the things I believe we need to consider while seeking to find His perfect will for our lives. Main Points: 1) We are all called to further God’s kingdom, but I believe we are also called to some specific purpose here on earth. 2) Whatever God has called us to here on earth does not prevent our service to Him but demonstrates our total commitment to Him. 3) We need to be passionate about what we are called to and perform it as unto the Lord. (Colossians 3:23) 4) It doesn’t matter what you think you are capable or incapable of due to health, education finances etc. God is capable enough to help you accomplish whatever He has called you to. He would have given us the Dream if He did not expect us to accomplish what we dreamed about. 5) The vision will not be about you but about adding value to others. You will in the end, however, reap the greatest reward. Mark 9:35 “If any man desire to be first (Great), the same shall be last and the servant of all.” 6) As long as there is life in you, you can still accomplish more. Do what you can while you can because once you are gone you can do no more. 7) God expects us to increase in every area of our lives. In doing this one of the most important areas to increase is in humility. If we increase in all areas but do not increase proportionally here, we will fall victim to pride and a great fall. LIVEHIM I believe is my calling, and I seek to be passionate about sharing it with others to encourage and embolden them to live for Jesus 7 days a week.
