I believe one of the biggest problems with society today is selfishness. We tend to only think about how our actions will benefit us without thought of how it will affect others around us. Simple kindness, and courtesy seem to go out the window when we are driving down the highway, and someone wants to merge into our lane.
Jesus' teachings were just the opposite. In Luke 14:12–14
Jesus teaches that true generosity expects nothing in return:
“When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
Also, one of my personal favorites,
Matt 6:1-4, “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you [a]openly.
Today, take time to do something for someone who you know has a need with no thought of repayment. You could help with chores or errands, buy some groceries, or drop a note (A call might be better) to someone who is feeling alone.
Make time every day to think of ways to help those in need even if it conflicts with your own schedule. the word tells us that our Heavenly Father will repay us and we can be assured that He will.
Another act of kindness is to take time to come here to LIVEHIM and share your testimonies. Let us know how God is working in your life today.
Be blessed.
Don't just love Him. Live Him.Don't just LVE Him.LVE Him.
