God's Grace

After a routine doctor appointment, the doctor asked me how I was feeling. I told him I was feeling fine, but that about three weeks ago I felt a little winded, after completing a routine job. I have felt fine ever since. He suggested that we follow up on that and have some test run. Based on the results of those tests he suggested I see a cardiologist. After my first visit with the cardiologist he reviewed the echocardiogram and the coronary calcium test. My numbers were alarming to him and he recommended a heart Cath be done ASAP. I asked could I do that after I return from vacation in a couple of weeks and he said maybe. He was starting to get my attention, and I decided that we would go for the heart Cath and probably a stent and all would be well. After having the heart Cath done, The doctor told me the results were not good. The doctor said you are not a good candidate for stents and you are not a good candidate for open heart surgery. I was told that they did not have a plan for me. The team will need to review all results . My family, pastor, and church family all prayed for my good outcome The next morning, I was told by the head cardiologist of the team that he was leaning more towards a high risk stent procedure.. He said he was going to see if he could convince the team. I told him that was the best news I have heard yet. After some scheduling mixups and more tests, the team decided to go with the high risk stent procedure. It was high risk because it was the artery referred to as the widow maker. It was 90% blocked and was one of four arteries that would need stents. This procedure also required a pump to be inserted in my vein and would sit across the aortic valve to keep blood flow to the aorta to maintain circulation to the brain and vital organs. The artery would be temporarily blocked during the stent insertion. God provided a miracle for me and a quick recovery. I had no idea that I was anywhere near death, but God knew and made a way. What a mighty God we serve. Ephesians 3:20 says "Now to him who is able to do exceedingly. abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us".
